Nalati Grassland, in Xinyuan County, Xinjiang, is one of the world’s four major subalpine meadows, known as “the first place to see the sunrise.” The scenic area combines snow-capped mountains, forests, valleys, and grasslands, with highlights like the Sky Grassland and Valley Grassland. Best visited from June to September, it is famous for its stunning landscapes, rich Kazakh culture, and top-tier 5A tourist facilities.
禾木村 Hemu Village

Hemu Village, in Altay, Xinjiang, is the largest settlement of the Tuva people. Famous for its pointed log “Mugelen” houses, morning mist and smoke, and golden autumn birch forests, it is called “God’s private land” and a photographer’s paradise. The village preserves rich ethnic traditions, blending stunning nature with unique culture.
烤羊肉串 Xinjiang Lamb Kebab
烤羊肉串起源于新疆,是全国流行的传统烧烤美食。将肥瘦相间的羊肉串在铁签上炭烤,撒上孜然、辣椒粉和盐,外焦里嫩、香辣鲜美、油而入味。它历史悠久,是西北特色美食,也是街头夜宵的经典代表。
Grilled Lamb Skewers, originating from Xinjiang, are a popular traditional barbecue across China. Fresh, marbled lamb is skewered and charcoal-grilled, seasoned with cumin, chili, and salt. Crispy outside, tender inside, and richly flavorful, it’s a classic Northwest delicacy and a staple of street food and night markets.
手抓饭 Uyghur Pilaf
手抓饭是新疆维吾尔族、乌兹别克族及中亚地区的传统名食,也是婚宴和待客的佳肴。以羊肉、胡萝卜、洋葱、大米和植物油分层焖制而成,米粒油润、肉嫩鲜香,营养丰富,传统上以手抓食用,风味独特。
Hand-Pulled Rice is a traditional dish of the Uyghur, Uzbek, and Central Asian peoples, often served at weddings and festive gatherings. Made with lamb, carrots, onions, rice, and oil, it is layered and simmered to create tender, flavorful meat and rich, fragrant rice, traditionally eaten by hand.
馕 Naan Bread
馕是新疆及中亚地区流行的传统发酵烤饼,历史逾三千年。以小麦粉为主料,辅以芝麻、洋葱、牛奶和清油,在特制“馕坑”高温烘烤而成,金黄酥脆、干爽耐储。品种丰富,如肉馕、油馕等,是新疆民众不可或缺的主食。
Nang is a traditional fermented flatbread from Xinjiang and Central Asia, over 3,000 years old. Made with wheat, sesame, onions, and oil, it’s baked in a high-temperature “tandoor” for a golden, crispy, and long-lasting texture. Varieties like meat and oil nang are Xinjiang staples.
